Who we are
Hytsiono ("we", "us", "our") is an independent IT support business, registered at:
8 Linnet Court, Farington Moss, Leyland, PR26 6AT
We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us at support@hytsiono.co.uk or 07834 721032 with any questions or requests relating to your data.
What information we collect
We only collect what we need to help you. This typically includes:
- Contact form submissions — your name, email address, and the message you send us.
- Direct correspondence — anything you tell us by email or phone, including details about the device or system you need help with.
- Customer and job records — for anyone who becomes a customer, basic details needed to carry out work and invoice for it (name, contact details, address where relevant, and a record of the work done).
We do not collect payment card details directly, and we do not run advertising or marketing tracking on this site.
How we use it, and why we're allowed to
| What we use it for | Our legal basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to an enquiry you've sent us | Legitimate interest — answering questions you've directly asked us |
| Carrying out IT support work or web hosting you've asked for | Performance of a contract with you |
| Keeping basic invoicing and job records | Legal obligation (accounting/tax records) and legitimate interest |
We do not use your information for marketing emails or texts unless you've separately and clearly agreed to that.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your information to anyone. We do use a small number of third-party services to run this website and business, who process data on our behalf:
- This website's own server — the contact form on hytsiono.co.uk sends your message directly from our own hosting to our inbox. No third-party form service is used.
- Our email provider — stores correspondence sent to support@hytsiono.co.uk.
- Google Fonts — this site loads its typefaces from Google's font service, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers (including your IP address) when the page loads. This is a standard, widely-used service for displaying fonts, not for tracking, but we mention it here for full transparency.
We may also need to share information where required by law, for example with HMRC for accounting purposes.
How long we keep it
Enquiry messages that don't turn into a job are generally kept for a reasonable period to allow for follow-up, then deleted. Records relating to actual work carried out (invoices, job notes) are kept for as long as required for accounting and legal purposes — typically up to 6 years, in line with UK tax record-keeping requirements.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it
- Ask us to correct anything that's inaccurate or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your information, where we don't have a legal reason to keep it
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information
To use any of these rights, just email support@hytsiono.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
Cookies
This website does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. The only third-party request made when you visit is to Google Fonts (see above), which is needed to display the site's typefaces correctly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we start using a new tool or service. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent change.
